Join local Exercise Physiologist Colleen Conners-Pace as she explains the best way to tailor your workouts to get the best performance out of each heart beat.  Learn why your heart rate can be your very best friend and coach. Your Chance to Ski with a Pro @ Royal Gorge XC
11:00 am – 1:00 pm

We will be gathering all the top athletes who have arrived in town to provide a unique opportunity for our locals to watch and learn from these racers as they slow down so we can ski behind them!  Open to ALL SKIERS who can ski an intermediate trail. Groups will self-select into abilities / classic or skate 11am .  Pre registration costs $10 for season pass holders; $30 if you need a daily trail pass.  Add $5 if you wait till Saturday morning to register.

For the young female athlete.  Open to girls ages 9 through 19 who can classic ski or skate a beginner trail. The afternoon includes on-snow tours with Fast and Female ambassador athletes (including Olympians), motivational speeches, group activities, healthy snack and a T.shirt. Participants must register ($25) in advance at www.fastandfemale.com.  1pm-4pm at TDXC. Price includes a trail pass.

Wisdom for Parents and Coaches @ Auburn Ski Club
1:30 pm – 3:45 pm

Part of Fast and Female Champ Camp! – Geared for parents of girls in any sport – but open and useful to parents of boys too! Nutritionist Betsy Taylor and Sports Psychologist & UNR’s Head girls Soccer Coach Melissa Price will present to parents followed by your chance to ski with the Champs & BBQ.  $5 Pre register at www.fastandfemale.com

There will be skiing available with the racers from 3:45pm until 4:30pm.

The Psychology of Cross-Country Ski Racing @ Tahoe Donner XC

Thanks to Sugar Bowl Academy – Jim Taylor, Ph.D. the internationally recognized expert on the psychology endurance sports, will present at Tahoe Donner Cross Country.  Suitable for athletes of all ages, parents and coaches.  Free event. Donations accepted to help fund Junior Olympic level athletes in the region.

Billy Dutton Uphill @ Squaw Valley USA

Once a year, Squaw Valley USA hosts a very special event: participants start at the base of KT-22 and go UP the Mountain Run to High Camp. Ski it, skin it, run it, snowshoe or hike, whatever works for you (sorry, no motors or jet packs). 
The Billy Dutton Uphill is a unique race with a tough 2000 ft. of climbing over the 3.2 mile course. A fun challenge for recreational athletes, runners, snowshoers, XC and backcountry skiers, or anyone who loves a good climb.
